Apple Cheddar Crisp with Cranberry Marmalade Topping
It’s tempting to fill the desert table with an assortment of sweet pies, but something sweet and tart might turn the heads of a few guests. This sweet and tart treat is delicious any time of the year. So if you don’t make it for Thanksgiving, save the recipe and serve this after a slow Sunday dinner.
Calef’s Shopping List:
From Calef’s store or online shop, you will need 1 (13-ounce) jar of Calef’s Cranberry Marmalade and 1 cup Sharp Cheddar cheese. We suggest picking up extra cheese for snacking while baking or to serve on Thanksgiving Day.

Jalapeno Cornbread Crackers
These unique crackers are the perfect appetizer that rolls right into the Thanksgiving meal. And, best of all, these can be made ahead and stored in a tightly covered container for up to one week. We love how these crackers are a new take on traditional cornbread. Be sure to save some to enjoy with turkey soup!
Calef’s Shopping List:
All you need for this one is 5 ounces of Calef’s Buffalo Wing Cheddar. Stop by the cheese fridge or order online.
Recipes to sweeten with New Hampshire Maple
If you aren’t looking to stray too far from your traditional meal we suggest some minor substitutes. Calef’s NH Maple is a delicious sweetener.
Here are some great recipes that feature New Hampshire’s famous maple.
Individual Pumpkin Pie: Individual pies might sound like more work but they are easy to transport and make for simple serving. This recipe can also make one 9-inch pie. And, the real show stopper on this one is the crumbled Ginger Snap garnish. Find the recipe here.
Maple and Squash and Sweet Potatoes: This age old combo is quintessential fall in New England. Cut and bake sweet potatoes with a little brown sugar, NH Maple, and butter for a candied sweet potato side. Mix a little NH Maple into whipped butternut squash for a velvety sweet dish. There are more options than squash, so get creative!
A Dash of Maple: Maple can be used to sweeten anything, including drinks! Try a Maple-Bourbon Smash, a seasonal version of an Old-Fashioned or sweeten a mulled wine with a bit of NH Maple. For the kids mix together some Maple Milk. Combine a dash of NH Maple with cold milk and drop of vanilla extract. NH Maple can also add a unique, gourmet flavor to coffee. Finish off a delicious meal with the fall flavors and sweetness of maple.
From our table to yours, we wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
